they are phase 1 gti6 pulleys, your best bet is a set of phase 2/3 pulleys as they were a better design, phase 1 pulleys are known for cracking.

Aftermarket pulleys don't have the pick up for the cam sensor so won't work with standard management.

I'm also struggling to see anything that would trigger a pulse.

aha!

looks good, shame they went to the bother of that but still cannot be arsed to add a simple timing pin hole!

given the design of them, all it needs is a single straight hole through the central hub, I would add one myself!

Do they work just like phase 1 pulleys for taking up play in the timing and where can I get and how much ?

Also is it possible to put bigger valves in the gti6 head

got off very lucky pistons only have slight marks and iv 8 bent valves lucky the pulleys broke when the clutch was in so the there was no momentum to smash the internals to bits

why do you want bigger valves, they're huge already

seriously, valve sizes are not a restriction in these, its cam duration and stupidly small valve cutouts.

you can see that ten if not 12 of those valves have touched, jut take them all out and get an engineer to check them, you would be very gutted if you went to the effort of replacing half the valves only to find that you scrimped on £8 or so per valve and still have a tapper.

It is going to a head shop to get rebuilt skimmed and pressure tested would bigger valves not make a slight difference in power

naah, cutouts in the pistons aren't big enough and you aren't running big cams or throttle bodies are you?

Na it was just a thought of doing that while the head was off and getting rebuilt anyway

By big enough, do you mean deep enough?

that too, if you put a larger radius valve you'll need a larger radius cutout, not just deeper to allow the valve to open sooner.

The pistons are made of chocolate so watch how much you enlarge the cut outs by
