Xu10J4R Coil Pack Wiring

Recommended Posts

patpug

I'm wiring up a Haltech ECU to an XU10J4R engine in a 205 using the standard coilpack with a dual channel ignitor. I've pretty much got it under control other than the coil pack wiring.

Running wasted spark, there are 3 wires on the coilpack multi-plug: switched +ve, ECU coil 1 (cyls 1&4) and ECU coil 2 (cyls 2&3). Question is, how do I identify which of the three wires is which? I haven'y been able to find a wiring diagram anywhere...

Thanks.

No love on this side of the world Peter! Posting in the wrong forum probably didn't help ha ha...

That diagram in your link is tricky (for me) to read - I still can't tell which wire is 1/4 and which is 2/3... 112B or C.

The pin numbers for the switched live and the earth are the same in the plug that I have so yes, looks like the J2TE is the same.

What earth? The spark plugs earth the circuit(s).

pin 1 - 112B

pin 2 - 112C

pin 3 - +12V

pin 4 - capacitor.

If you get pin 1 and pin 2 mixed up, no big deal, it won't run. Just swap them, or the leads. I think I recall from your pic that white is +12V?

If you bring it over I can bench test it if you like.

And I meant the earth off the suppressor, there's an earth symbol on pin 4 in that diagram no? Anyway, it's all sorted now.

Hi-Jack ON:-)

What does the supressor do?

i am 90% certain that the supressor helps to stop the engine speed related whistling you sometimes get on your radio/cd players ...... amongst other things..
