Lift Off Oversteer In A Big Way, Nearly Lost My Girlfriend.

Recommended Posts

pugpaul

6 days ago my girlfriend took a corner a bit too fast in her 307, she lifted off mid corner, results were not good.

The A road to which she ,lost control on was closed for 30 mins, Fire service on scene as well as Ambulance and Police, oh and she was taken by Air Ambulance to Intensive Care.

She is so so lucky and is still here. She is now out of hospital with a lot of bruising and a broken jaw.

Here are some pics of the car.......

Thats not good at all, people moan about the NHS but they are there when it matters.

Looks like a 307 SW with the glass panoramic roof. They always scared me a little in case of an accident (says he with a CTI) and that explains why. The drivers airbag hasn't gone off, but the sides have. I have found that the 307 can be very slippy at the back, especially with budget tyres. Good fun like a 205 if you know what you are doing but can catch you very unaware if not careful on a slippy road.

Glad she is ok :) People often buy Volvos as a replacement after a moment like this!

She did a proper job on that! :o

I lost the back end on the Focus I had on demo for a week, a couple of months ago. Quite high speed, bend I was on suddenly tightened (as did my bum hole) and it just went. Fishtailed it. Luckily no other cars coming the other way. That's the problem with modern cars, you can carry so much speed without even realising it, until it's too late.

Where has the B-pillar gone? Looks to have been ripped out, as if the spot welds have just failed...

Glad she's on the mend though.

Where has the B-pillar gone?

Chopped by the fire brigade to get her out??

Get well soon, my girlfriend worries me sometimes as she will at times bash along at a fair rate blissfully unaware of what the car is doing, come rain or shine.

Holy s*it. Glad to hear she's ok dude, I've been in a fair few smashes myself (thankfully mainly getting rear ended at lights etc) but even they hurt.

Silver lining is she got to have a ride in a helicopter ;)

There's not much left of that. I'm glad she's ok, all the best with her recovery ! I always felt safe in my 307, even though i hated it with a passion.

That looks very scary.

The whole roof has collapsed!

She is very very lucky to be alive and I hope she gets well soon.
