Part No For Clips To Secure Handbrake Cables To Tank?

Recommended Posts

Tom Fenton

As title, I'm trying to obtain 4 off new clips, the ones that secure the handbrake cables up to the lugs on the fuel tank, you know, the ones that have always disintegrated and fallen off!

Now not being a lazy git between M@tt and myself we had a look and ordered the only clips we thought it could be, as the service box drawing didn't show any that looked right. Sure enough they came and are the ones that hold the cable to the bracket off the trailing arm, not a bad thing as my cables are cabletied on there at the moment.

But still I have no clips for the tank.

So any ideas anyone? Has anyone bought these at any time? I'm hoping they are still available?

No, thats not it. Those are for the brake fluid pipes. I'm on about the handbrake cables. Thanks for trying though.

i didn't even know they were supposed to have clips! if they're unavailable, you could carefully hand-drill the 'runner' and use cable ties?

I thought the cables just clipped (badly) into the carriers moulded into the tank?

So tank is different to a 309 Gti?????

309 Gtis use what they call a 'hog ring',part number:

4754 13

This is the right clip! For some strange reason not shown on the 205 parts diagram! The 405 also uses them.

No 5 shown below, 4 off fitted to clip the cables properly to the tank.

I shall be ordering some in due course, there is nothing that I find more annoying than droopy handbrake cables on 205's!

ahhh!!! I have some of those!

13 to be precise! I shall bring them to pugfest for you?

they're used on the ZX

not been under the 205 for a LOOOooong time :)

does the cable fit directly into the recess in the tank or is there a plastic insert that wraps around the cable?

Learn something new every day, the lugs on the tank look like they will fit so I'm going to try and get some and see.

That would be marvellous if that is OK. Obviously I only need 4. Will then see if they will fit, I think they may do.

Start with handbrake cable drooping down and looking rubbish

Refit into guides, then fit clips

MUCH better

Thanks to Welshpug for posting me the clips.

Hi Tom

Sorry to resurrect a very old thread!! I'm just ordering the clips you pictured to secure my cable to my tank.

Was wondering what the clips look like that you say "ones that hold the cable to the bracket off the trailing arm" - got any pics / service diagram no so I can check mine are there or whether I need to order them?
