Bare with me on this one as it's garfunkeled me a bit.

The 205GTi needs new rear brake discs. Round here in Scunny the best price I've got is around £35 for a pair of them (I have spare pads so do not need these).

Looked on Ebay and found these... SAXO ZX XSARA 106 205 306 309 REAR BRAKE DISCS X 2 NEW on eBay (end time 13-Jul-09 21:16:45 BST)

£15, bargain I here you say. So I looked on the companies website. There seems to be 2 sites... Car Parts Car Parts and Home - A to Z Car Parts

So I rung the no. on the Ebay ad, 01924 45 12 77 and asked if I could pick the discs up instead of paying for postage. (I'm going past Dewsbury tomorrow). I got told if I'm picking them up, they're £26. Tried asking why, but it was quite an abpupt Asian lad, so didn't bother arguing.

The discs are the cheapest I've found (desperate for MOT), and they are open tomorrow morning from about 9.30am he said. So my thinking is to pay the extra ££ and pick them up, otherwise I would pay nearly £30 inc p&p.

Anyone had any dealings or similar experiences like this.

The postacode given for my Satnav is WF12 9BQ, but there is as said, 2 companies and the other one is very similar but down the road.

Seems fishy, but I'm going that way anyways tomorrow a.m. so can at least make sure I got the right bits. Their feedback is very good too, both on Ebay and the website.

For a big company I doubt the courier would cost them anywhere near £12.75, there price is probably asuming people will also be paying this.

For what it's worth, I've bought some Mondeo bits from that company on eBay before, and the parts were as described and arrived within a couple of days :(

My concern would be that they've listed the brake disks as fitting 205/309 and ZX/306/Xsara, when in my experience, the two are slightly different offsets (and GSF list them as different part numbers) B)

Agreed, they are very similar, but not the same. My brake parts catalogue acquired from my factors details a different offset of about 9mm off the top of my head.

Aww, crap :(

I just called GSF in Leeds and the cheapest they do is the Vetech ones at £17.50 each plus vat B)

I'm doing something wrong here, I swear...

This is what I assume I'm buying... http://www.atozmotorspares.co.uk/product_i...oducts_id/49120

Just been double checking as I was sure what welshpug said was correct...

https://secure.gsfcarparts.com/shop/results.asp

The 5th and 6th ones down.

Whys the dude at GFS quoted me £17.50 each for the cheapo ones, when on the GSF site, they're bloody Bremob ones?

And can someone confirm that the 6th one down, ie the FR+RE solid discs, will indeed fit my 88 1.9GTi, as it's getting silly now LOL! I may ring another GSF up and see what they say...

Hahaha, more delving and a call to the Doncaster branch found em the following...

The 6th one down...

N62324 BRAKE DISC-SOLID(FR&RE) 205 11.75

Only fots 205 front discs but 405 rear discs. WTF B)

They did confirm the cheapest they did was £17.50 each plus vat. So more expensive then the ones I found in Scunny.

I'm now really torn about risking the ones on the AtoZ website tomorrow morning, because if they don't fit properly, you can guess the amount of hassle getting a refund will be.

Do you know anyone with a Halfords trade card at all? They are (or atleast were when I last got some) £11 each including VAT on trade and they usually have them on the shelf in the larger branches...

Haaa haaaargh, I'm on a roll.

I've just tried one last parts supplier in Sc*nthorpe, and managed to order a apir in for £22.46+vat.

I doubly made sure that the listing is for a 205/309 rear disc and that they are the 247mm fitment. I mentioned that they have a similar offset to the ones mentioned above and he confirmed that it's listed for a 205.

Gonna have them brought over for monday dinner time, thank feck. And at least if they don't fit, I'll get my monies back easier, as they're 250 yards away from my house LOL!!

22.46+vat! that's like 25yoyo!

I'm after getting a set of QH rear dics the day for 38yoyo +vat (£32 according to XE.com) was the cheapest I could find without forking out silly postage.

Wish GSF would open over hear would be a god-feckin-send!! B)
