Help Me Get My Avos Setup

Recommended Posts

djinuk

Ok, i have a road/track car , and have always ran quite a low ride height.

I always had problems with the front end of the car not staying on the road very well and it was thought to maybe be due to my front suspension which was avo coilovers (dont know what springs etc as i got them 2nd hand)

Now i have fitted the gti6 engine into the bay and the front suspension is a lot lower. This leads me to believe maybe my front suspension is far to soft ?

I dont really know a great deal about suspension works etc of cars but im thinking maybe i should just buy a new setup.

With the GTi6 engine in it, it'll be a bit lower as the engine is a little heavier so it doesn't really suggest the suspension is too soft. When you say the front end is not staying on the road, what do you mean? no traction or it's too floaty?

i found i got a lot of what is probably described as bump steering, on flat surfaces it was great but through the lanes i cudnt even keep up with a quick driver in a ford ka.. Now i have fixed 2x ball joints which were knackered so that wouldnt of helped but i still think the suspension isnt great,.
