Between Bearing Inside Beam

Recommended Posts

SurGie

Hi,

I have had a beam rebuilt, and after looking inside the beam between the bearings on one side there is a lot

of what looks like deep scratch's in the surface of the beam, yet the other side looks like new.

My question is is it ok to leave it as it is or take beam back for them to sort out ?

I dont want to take out bearings to have a good look on the inner edge, as i dont want to damage them as they are quite

stuck in the beam.

Cheers...

Can you get a picture to help explain what you mean?

If you're saying that the inside of the tube between the inner and outer bearings is scratched, then no, that won't make any odds at all, so long as the areas where the bearings sit are OK and no ovalled/damaged.

Im not, i wanted it like that so i can paint it up all clean etc, and its been put back slightly together so i know

which side goes to the right side etc, as iv not sorted out beams before now and im replacing every little part on it.
