185 55 15.......... keep the 15's on standard!!! :) I may be the only 1.9 driver on the planet who still uses 185 55 but that's the way I like it!

Are 205's too wide on a 1.9 wheel?

yes, they'll rub like buggery! I know Goliath has a set on 1.9 rims his 1.6 and they rub on the metal arch at the front and back when given some hoonage.....

185 is the best width tyre for a 6" wide rim on a 205, 195's are best suited to a taller sidewall or a wider rim.

That's a shame, had my eye on some cheap used R888's on the 'Bay!

they'll be even worse as they're a fairly chunky tyre compared to many of the same size.

stick with 14's and decent rubber, they are lighter and will keep the car feeling nimble.

the 15's are very heavy wheels, and make the suspension brakes and everything work alot harder.

Smallest you can fit over your brakes while getting decent tyres. :)
