Engine Top Mount Buffers

hi all !

when replacing top mount buffers should they be shimmed to have slight clearance either side ? i'm trying to reduce vibration levels inside car !

I think if you just fit them as standard there is a little clearance either side from the mount. This should reduce vibration and allow the engine to move when accelerating again reducing vibration. A lot of people, myself included, have added washers to the bushes to make them firmly touch the mount, this reduces engine movement and I have not felt an uncomfortable increase in vibration.

There won't be with std buffers, there is with uprated ones though.

cheers for the replies ! i will replace them with standards and shim to leave a small clearance, we see if there's any reduction in vibration levels !
