1.6 8v Carbs

Dont know if this has been posted before so sorry if it has.

I have recently put a 1.6 gti engine into my xs which will be running on bike carbs.

If anybody has ran a gti engine on bike carbs can you tell me where the coil should go as it is usually mounted on the standard inlet manifold which is no longer being used.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am running an MI16, but the idea is the same, I just made a simple bracket that I mount the coil to, and then attached it to the firewall near the header tank.

Cheers for the advice, i actually thought of securing it to the bit in front of the header tank where the suspension arm sits, (opposite the dizzy cap).

Didn't know wether it would work or not.

Thanks for the help.

I would not drill into the turret, you would not want to weaken it!

I was going to try securing it with 4 self tapping screws to the turret, cant see why that would weaken it. Dont no wether that method will work though.
