Guest ADRIAN

Does anyone know where I can get a set of ignition cables made by Splitfire?

Thanks,

Adrian.

Why would you want any? They're utter crap and no better (probably worse) than normal ignition cables.

w0teva! :D

Seriously though, they are crap. The only reason they worked better on your car was because the previous leads were knackered and needed replaced.

Fair do's if they're cheaper where you are, but I find they are very expensive here in the uk.

They're good when new, but don't last.

The caps pulled off of all 4 of mine.

Waste of money.

Noticed today at the Rally SuperCar Day at Castle Coombe that some sort of Ign. leads will give you an extra 15bhp! Seriously could'nt believe that sort of absurd advertising!

Saying that, it was a blue oval parts stand!

I've got a full AMD ignition system for the new car and from what i've been told by various people who run these engines it's a great improvement.

Is it that hard to put an uprated ignition system on the 205 to give it that little extra help?

Dave!

to be fair i had a set on an xs and they did last but the claims they make about them are rubbish

Yep, the claims are crap.

Unless both strips of conductor are as thick as a normal HT lead, then they'll be less effective seeing as the spark will only ever travel down one at a time.

Think about that:

The leads get hot so if you have 2 wires going down 1 lead then...

They are thiker than the original ones ( 8mm - 7mm) so....

Full life waranty...

They did it for me.

the leads wont make any difference to the strength of the spark unless they are the type where you ground part of it but that will probably knacker the coil eventually

ok guys it obvious that people have a difference of opinions on whether the leads are any good, but the original quetion was where could they be obtained from so lets try to stick with the topic, and if some wants to spend lots of money on something that may or may not give any improvement then thats up to them. :(
