what rpm do most people's mi16's rev limiters kick in? mine seems to be about 6750rpm which is a bit lower than i thought as i've heard people on here saying that it is 7250rpm and i got a shock when i hit it the other day!

Mine used to limit at 7000rpm on the tacho. After swaping speedo packs due to faulty oil gauge the rev limiter would come in at random places between 6400 and 6900 on the tacho, but mostly around 6600

would it make a difference that my 205 used to be a 1.6 GTI, therefore the rev counter being less accurate to the mi16 signal?

mine goes all the way round to 8000rpm before it starts jumping on the rev counter :)

Mine seems to be about 7300rpm. Interestingly I have only hit it hard in 5th! :) 3 times in a row :D With a 1.6 gearbox it pulls straight into it, you back off accelerate and it hits it again.

Accelerating through the gears I take mine to around 6800rpm.

i hadnt hit the limiter all the time i had the 1.9box in, but a few weeks of the 1.6box and its hit the limiter a couple times, sounded nasty when i hit it in 3rd.

So which box do I use for a dedicated track car with Mi16 ?.

I have choice of 1.6, 1,9 and Mi16.

Thanks

i'd say 1.6 for sure, seems to suit the mi16 much better than the 1.9 box

My Non cat ML4.1 Mi16 had rev limiter at 7000rpm, checked accurately on RR.
