Tu Engine Valve Stem Seals, Head Bolts, Timing Belts

Recommended Posts

calvinhorse

I've done a search and not found an answer, I used to know these engines like the back of my hand but I must be getting old!

Would I be right in thinking all valve stem seals are the same for 8v tu engines? I've ordered what I believed to be correct and they are too big (and shockingly bad quality Febi Bilstien)

Are head bolts also the same on all alloy blocks?

Also are the timing belts the same on all 1.1/1.4?

Many thanks

stem seals all the same, belts aren't.

what part number have you got for the stem seals? 095628 is the peugeot number.

TU24 rallye engine has thicker valve stems (8mm) , so maybe you've got stem seals for one of them ?

when buying stem seals pick an factory sealed pack of seals , some shops still sell them per piece for lower price but these tend to get "sour" much quicker than sealed ones from my experience and not worth a bother ..

also , stick with known brands for gasket material seals and bolt sets - "elring" , "v. reinz" , "payen" .. "febi-bilistien" seems to have a lot of complains on they're rubber-metal parts quality lately

The invoice is for 100207 - 026109675

I cross referenced the part number after the listing had my engine (1.1) listed, I just searched the cheapest one but the listing does state 8mm so my fault...

The quality is shocking tho, I'm going to the main dealer for sure

Cheers chaps ????

He came up with 2 codes

95628 and 95605

Turns out my head is actually a 1360 Cj head..

It has a lip on the valve stems to hold the seals which I've never seen before

Does anybody know the standard head height of a tu engine? I know it's in the Haynes manual but I don't have one to hand :(

Cheers Welshpug, just realised you have actually answered my question ????

It certainly looks like all TU engines use the same stem seals except the 1.3
