Oil Pump Xu9

Recommended Posts

Thijs_Rallye

Hi,

Does anyone know if the oil pump halves are matched pairs? Or can I just swap them around?

I will have to extend the pickup on my pump and it would be much more handy to extend one of the pickups I have lying around and then swap it over to my pump. Since I don't have a lift available at home I'll have to do it elsewhere where I can't let the car on the lift until the extension is done.

Cheers,

Thijs

I would say they're not matched, so you can just get one modified and swap it when done.

But might be different between different type of pumps, i.e. XU10J4TE/XUD11 pump has larger internal gears than the regular 1.9/2.0 16v pumps etc.

you can pull the whole pump out fine, bit fiddly but possible.

I recently made up a good pump from a number of units, admittedly on an xu10 motor. So no they're not matched.
