Sad Testing

Recommended Posts

pslynam

Hi all,

I was trying to test my SAD off the car last night. I had it connected to 12V for about 35 minutes - it was almost closed but not completely. I could still see a little bit of light getting through when I look down the inlet and I could also blow air through from one side to the other.

Should it have closed in that time with just a 12v supply to it and no heat from the engine to help close it? I have already cleaned it with carb cleaner so its like new inside.

Cheers

it should close after 5 minutes according to the haynes manual, and be open at 20 degrees.

Thanks for that. I presume it should be completely air tight when closed?
