Had a problem with the drivers door not unlocking and the central locking not working either.

firstly i stripped down the drivers door,

Found the brass coloured pivot type thing was sticking, so gave it a good soaking with wd40 freed it up a treat!

tried the door lock, now works perfectly but still no central locking,

Removed the lower kick panel to find the central locking module, this is what i found :

Looked a right state, god know what all those scotch locks were for!!

Pulled that all out and repaired the wiring,

My guess its something todo with an old radio or something they were just using the 12v feed ect from the central locking.

Wires repaired and taped up

As the doors have no membranes and unsure if you can buy one still? i made my own from a thick dust sheet

even know i don't have a radio yet i put back the speaker i took out before stripping the shell down

I'd hazard a guess that it was probably an old alarm or similar rather than a radio - common place to hack into the wiring for the central locking, pins 6 and 8 from memory being lock and unlock.

The standard of wiring certainly fits the usual alarm installer level of bodgery anyway...

I cant stand scotch locks, used to have to remove tow bar electrics with loads fitted to them!

Its been a long time since updating this, with house moves and money going on that the 205 has been garaged, kept motd and insured and only small bits doing now and again,
