Driveshafts Mi16 4x4

Recommended Posts

christopher

I'm trying to find some new 4x4 shafts for the 405 T16, Mi16 or the GR 4x4.

Does anyone know if there are any suppliers in UK that still do these?

Some of the Mi16 and GR ones are the same as the T16 that is why I ask about these models only.

I'm looking for the Bendix ABS models specifically..

Cheers

Hi

Is it front or rear shafts you're after?

Both actually. But I mostly need the rears I expect. They seem to be pretty worn and are knocking like hell.

The rears should be the same as Mi16 and GR x4. And the front right is the same as a Mi16 x4.

I have looked at the main suppliers like europarts & GSF with no luck.

I have found some used rear ones but would like to leave this to a last resort..

Cheers

is it the inner or outer joints you need?

if it is outer then a standard 2wd cv will work on the front, possibly the rear as well.

Well TBH I don't know. I'm guessing it is the middle. But I don't know.

I get quite a hard knocking when taking up drive and which then disappears, once I am moving a bit faster. I think it even also causes the ABS light to come on!!

I suppose there is no way to test these without taking them apart?

Try those guys. I enquired a few years ago about driveshafts from them and they had some new ones. You will have to email or give them a call though as their website is useless!!!

Really? In thought neat had stopped doing mostly 405 parts. I used to buy a lot of stuff for the 205 there a few years back.

I'll give them a call anyway and see what they can get.

Cheers

No luck at Neat  They sound really expensive too when they were available.

Maybe renovation is the only option. Anyone know good companies that renovate driveshafts?

Just get them out and get your hands dirty! Take them to a driveshaft specialist if can't see what's wrong. Do you have any nearby?

Surely if you can find a CV joint without the ABS ring that fits, it can't be too hard to make up an ABS ring for it?

Good point! I'll have a search.
