Have also managed to paint the boot and front wings, in addition to some other small stuff, door handles and fuel cap etc.

20150208_154840_zpsliyakr9u.jpg

20150210_221436_zpsdo5wwyjh.jpg

And now started sanding the last parts, side skirts, bumpers and rear spoiler.

20150211_214020_zpstd33pwd7.jpg

20150211_214039_zpsyxtvtqpy.jpg

Had to make a new mounting bracket on the rear bumper, rusted to pieces.

20150211_214055_zps4vlvx1b1.jpg

Front wings and boot is fitted. Front wings just testfitted though :) Seem to fit well.

Now I've painted the bumpers in white, just to better see any flaws and as a kind of sanding filler.

20150214_152426_zpsxtadlrlu.jpg

20150214_152441_zpsefuoqpkd.jpg

I also welded up a pipe from the thermostat housing to the heater matrix.

20150216_215756_zpsphnhcffb.jpg

20150216_215706_zpstxmf0brw.jpg

And I have started sanding the TSW EvoR rims that I had on my old 405 Mi16. Gonna give them a refurb.

At least I will use these for MOT as I can run the brembo calipers without using any spacer etc. with them.

Have painted bumpers and side skirts since last update now.

20150223_215213_zpszj8wl3wz.jpg

20150226_213054_zpsfzniesyn.jpg

20150226_213128_zps9tziccyz.jpg

Now I've started prepping the bonnet. Sandblasted quite a bit on the underside of the bonnet, as it had slight beginning rust development on a lot of the sharp edges.

20150305_224443_zpsvl3hla0n.jpg

20150305_224718_zpsqwojhbds.jpg

Sprayed the inside white today, hopefully the rust will be kept under control. Painting it red is the next step.

Thanks. It's been quite some more work than first thought. A 405 4x4 certainly is more work than a 205 gti restoration. Lesson learned :)

Have spent more time on it now since last update.

First round of primer/filler on the outside of bonnet.

20150308_162407_zpsh2lpvdmn.jpg

Fabricated waterpipe from matrix to pump inlet

20150310_223543_zps93vlitol.jpg

Engine out again to gain access for some last work needed to be done

20150319_215439_zpsofzot7tb.jpg

Overview of exhaust

20150319_215530_zpst537da3s.jpg

Finished the last piece of the matrix return water pipe

Boring sanding of bonnet

20150324_221835_zpsl2gemb9k.jpg

Made a support bracket for the downpipe to avoid bending it on the turbo outlet.

20150324_221914_zpsouhvx3xl.jpg

Color shot inside bonnet and on grille

20150402_155243_zpsxktvuzro.jpg

And clear

20150404_155302_zpsgxhx2fvf.jpg

Also trying to get the garage at my house ready for the T16 to arrive. Plating the inside roof after adding insulation to keep the heat in there. Planning to install a air/air heat exhanger. Track 205 in the background :)

Bonnet got color on the outside, last color painting on this car for now!

20150407_220530_zpsbfqmiswo.jpg

Fitted the first side skirt

20150407_220617_zpsw9dgik5p.jpg

And mounted the litium ion battery at the front, decided to move the fuel surge tank to the back, feels safer also, and more easy to have the battery at standard location regarding wiring looms etc

20150412_212447_zps9vi4msg1.jpg

Last painting done! Bonnet turned out 97%, at distance about 1-2m more or less 100% :)

20150413_191909_zpslgy7uimu.jpg

And started on mounting the surge tank at the back

Things have moved forward a bit since last update.

Bought a MS3 Pro ECU card to be mounted into standard ECU box, using a 2.0 Mi16 loom as base for the engine management, and adding some extra wires where needed.

20150415_083316_zpssd4v7wru.jpg

Painted more wheels, T16 wheels would be ideally on the car, but for MOT etc. I need to use the good old TSW EvoR's from my first car (red Mi16), as these clears the brembos without spacers etc.

20150427_204846_zpsetbvyk8o.jpg

Sprayed acid etch primer

20150501_214642_zpskqwaqo4d.jpg

Had a baby girl

20150509_045659_zps4aynxhy7.jpg

And Finished the rims

Had to buy a spares car to be able to get interior clips that were NFP.

Clips could not be taken out without breaking them, so had to chop them out with the angle grinder.

Front on, and ready to move it to my garage at home. Easier to get things done then now when I'm a dad and can't drive to the remote garage so often.

Indeed they do :)

Hopefully I can get to use them more in time coming...

Btw. The Merc has 500bhp and accelerated quite nice even with 2 tons attached to the rear :P

Not very much visible progress lately.

I've mounted the 1000cc injectors in the manifold, and got the new 3bar MAP sensor mounted too..

IMG_20151106_212058_zpsymrjzrco.jpg

Mainly working on the engine management loom now. Used a 405 2.0 Mi16 loom as base and have added some pins to the ECU plug.

I'm mounting the MS3 Pro Module inside a standard BOSCH ECU box, to make it look as factory as possible.

IMG_20151105_223447_zpsvhycyahq.jpg

ECU to be mounted inside Bosch box.

Love the paintwork. Looks great. Looking forward to seeing it back on the road.

Love the 405 T16. As far as I'm aware, they never made it over here.
