I found bits of feeler guage used as shims :blink:

The head had one very worn inlet valve guide, but other than that it was in good nick.

The block and head have gone for vapour blasting.

So bought a second hand block, which needed stripping but it looks like it's going to do the same!

This thread is is lazy lob material, without doubt.

 

The big downside (for me) is that it makes my tidyish CTI look like a right old turd!

Alex i have a 1900 block knocking about if your intrested..

 

You can have all the pistons and liners etc with it if you want those too!

 

Its been dry stored since i last used it, but the block is pretty clean!

I would also like to know what the plan is with door seals as I planning to take on a similar project pretty soon, though it looks I have my work cut out if I am to match this standard of work.

theres a bloke in harworth that does vapour blasting tom, dont know what there called tho
