Thanks dan,

Yes it often puzzles people, ive had a few people stop me and say something like "your cambelt or aux belt is to tight" etc. Hopefully the whine wont get much louder once the smaller pulley is put on.

Although it didnt look much the inlet itself took around 12-14+hrs to build. Yours sounded pretty lairy too lovely noise to be following. :)

Good day, was a nice run back over the somerset levels :) shame we hit some slow moving traffic.

Awhile since a update, been currently been suffering with bad front brakes, constant wrapping etc, despite new pad, discs, new slides to find the caliper housing and pistons are worn. I have been debating on some 4 pots so i decided to take the plunge on these.

These worked out much cheaper than the 406 option, admittedly they may weigh more but im not weight obsessed.

After a quick chat with mickie he sent me over his desgin for the brackets to fit them but turned out they were for 1600 hubs.

I need to go to dans to pinch a hub from him so i am able to mock these up.

All for now :)

I did abit more on the calipers this afternoon, started to get them mounted to some old hubs.

Got a issue with the bracket as one of the holes doesn't line up with the hub

I'll be off to the machine shop on Monday for some new ones.

bit of an update on these calipers, calipers had to go on mill to gain more pad to disc coverage.

This morning i got them bolted up to the car for the first time.

As with the 406 brembos i knew the wheel would never fit, Im thinking about some new wheels but im not very good with wheel offsets etc id like a set of the sl434's but unsure if they are better or worse for offset. Iknow they are et8 and my cyclones are et19 again this means nothing to me.

It means the centreline is 11mm further out, though in reality the inner edge isn't much further due to the additional width.

here's a very useful web page where you can compare wheel sizing www.willtheyfit.com ( I have added the original 1.9 and the SL434's dimensions with the standard 1.9 tyre as a comparison)

whether this will have a direct affect depends on the design of the wheels, for example a 1.9 wheel needs a fair spacer to clear a brembo caliper, not due to their diameter, but their bulk at the inner diameter of the hub section of the wheel, AND the curve of the spokes as they meet the rim.

ok thanks mei, yeah the diameter of it all is fine its where the wheel spokes meet the out side of the caliper.

Yes it was mate, I've got the brakes bolted up to your hubs atm with some 307 discs, just to find some time to see if the wheels fit. Will be nice to have some brakes that don't shake.

Bit of update hasn't been a good week for the car. I had recently been hearing some kind of noises but wasn't able to pin point where from. Last Saturday night I left work and pulled away and heard a almighty bang! Car wouldn't move or even roll. So it was recovered to the workshop by the rac, watching the car been dragged up the lorry bed I knew it wasn't good. Next day I went to the workshop to find this

Whoops!

On a better side damo was nice enough to lend me his spare set of hubs so I could mock the skyline calipers up on. With the brackets finished off I've only to work out what size spacers ill need.

calipers update had them shot blasted recently and stripped and cleaned

Then sprayed them with etch primer and some red and hand painted the nissan with with, not everyones taste but matches the rear.

Cars looking good. Did you ever change your pulley over to the 54mm one? What kind of pressure are you getting now?

No I haven't yet, still on 5psi yet to have the cam timing checked. Mainly know one wants to take the job on. I think once I've got a wideband in I will change the pulley.

Today I had some new wheels fitted at topgear in bridport, also mainly to clear my brakes I have to go on, they are 15" 7j et15 loads more clearance than what I was getting with cyclones. £430 later

Is that with a 309 beam on the back? If so, I don't fancy your chances with the arches surviving long!

Does look good though with the wide stance and slightly agressive look of the intercooler and bonnet bulge :D

I must be the only one that dislikes that look of wheels outside the arches
